Dear Ronilynn, I have a question for you, how would you encourage a wife who's husband struggles with pornagraphy? Or what would you tell her to do? J.M. ~ Georgia Dear J., This is a multi-dimensional question really, but the short answer is for them to seek counseling, prayer, support, and help. This is not a struggle that will just go away without serious intervention. It has devastating impacts on the person that is struggling, on their spouse and their marriage. There is hope in Christ; He came to set the captives free! Ref. Luke 4:18 One such testimony can be found in Michael Leahy's: Author Of 'Porn Nation' book. Michael Leahy lost all he held dear because of his addiction to pornography. It's America's number one addiction. A very informative news report and encouraging interview with Michael Leahy. CBN Video Link: http://www.cbn.com There is a highly recommended Christian Sex Therapy and Counseling center in the Atlanta, GA area: http://intimatemarriage.org There is an on-line sexual integrity coaching service: http://intentionalhearts.com There are some very helpful ministry sites/resources available on-line: https://www.puredesire.org/en/ http://www.porn-free.org http://www.fightthenewdrug.org I would also recommend a reliable security filter on all computers/devices, like: http://www.covenanteyes.com Some Sobering Stats: More than 1 in 8 web searches are for erotic content. 79% of accidental exposures to Internet porn among kids take place in the home 56% of divorce had one person who was hooked on porn. 64% of American men view porn at least monthly, the percentage of Christian men is nearly the same. 67% of children admit to clearing their Internet history to hide their online activity. 79% of men ages 18-30 view porn at least monthly. 67% of men ages 31-49 view porn at least monthly. 55% of married men view porn at least monthly. More than 50% of porn internet users report losing interest in sex with their partner. 40% of those who are sexually addicted lose their spouse. 29% of working adults accessed explicit websites on work computers. Our collective prayers should continually be for our culture to be awakened to this dark plague and freed from it, freedom for the victims and slaves of pornography, courage for leaders to rise up, speak out and fight! |
